Gerald P. Spindel, M.D., graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Biology, then received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. After completing his internship at Cambridge City Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Spindel spent three years as a resident in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Long Island Jewish Hospital. Doctor Spindel is a comprehensive ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical treatment for eye diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma and retinal diseases. He introduced laser refractive surgery to the Derry area, correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Doctor Spindel is board certified in ophthalmology and has been active in New Hampshire since 1985. He is the past president of the New Hampshire Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Brad P. Novey, M.D., graduated from Brandeis University with a B.S. degree in Biology. He then received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. After completing an internship at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, Dr. Novey spent three years as a resident in the department of Ophthalmology at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He joined Spindel Eye Associates in 2006 and sees patients at all of the four conveniently located offices. Doctor Novey is a comprehensive ophthalmologist providing medical and surgical treatment for eye diseases including cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma and retinal diseases.

Jeffrey L. Marx, M.D., completed his medical training at State University of New York at Stony Brook. After finishing his residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, he completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at USC. He joined the Lahey Clinic in 1998 and specializes in medical and surgical treatments of retinal diseases. He currently sees patients in our Derry Office

Susan Tucker, M.D. joined Spindel Eye Associates, P.C. on May 18, 2007, at Overlook Medical Park located in Derry, New Hampshire. Doctor Tucker is currently the Director of Oculoplastic Surgery at Lahey Clinic Eye Institute in Peabody, Massachusetts. She is a Board Certified ophthalmologist since 1992 who specializes in Oculoplastic and Aesthetic Surgery of the eye. Her special interests include Aesthetic and Functional Eyelid and Eyebrow Surgery; Laser Skin Resurfacing ; Orbital Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Eye; Tearing Problems, and Thyroid Eye Disease. She will be seeing patients on Fridays in our Derry office, and will be performing her surgeries at the Derry Surgery Center located in the lower level at Overlook Medical Park. Additionally, Dr. Tucker is the Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine. She will be joining two of her associates from Lahey Clinic Eye Institute, Jeffrey L. Marx, M.D. Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology and Gregory R. Blaha, M.D., PhD, Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery who both specialize in Vitreoretinal Surgery, at Spindel Eye Associates since 2005.

Dr. Gregory R. Blaha received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Tufts Medical School in 2004 and a combined medical/surgery fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the Lahey Clinic in 2006. Dr. Blaha is a staff physician at the Lahey Clinic and sees patients in Burlington, MA. He also sees patients and performs surgery in Peabody, MA. He will be available to see patients requiring expertise in medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases in our office in Derry.

Sarah L. Durant, O.D., graduated from Saint Anselm University in Goffstown, NH, with a degree in Biology. She then went on to receive her optometric degree from the New England College of Optometry. Doctor Durant joined Spindel Eye Associates in 2002 and currently sees patients in our Derry office.
