Payments and Insurance

Financing and Payment Options

For vision correction procedures that are not otherwise covered by insurance, such as LASIK, Premium Lens Implants, cosmetic eyelid procedures, and optical services, we offer patients a variety of payment options. We accept major credit cards, cash, check, and money orders for payment. We also offer flexible, low monthly payment financing through Care Credit. During your visit to the office, you will have the opportunity to discuss the cost of your procedure and the financing solution that works best for your budget.

Please note that some insurance plans may cover all or a part of your “elective” vision correction procedures, or offer a discount. Our staff is happy to work with you to determine the status of your insurance company’s policy.

Our pricing reflects our doctors’ extensive experience, our dedication to providing our patients with the latest technology and tools available, and our strong belief in personalized care. When you chose to have vision correction with us, you are paying for superior care and peace of mind.

Use Your FLEX Plan for Laser Vision Correction or Eyeglasses
Many patients choose to use their Flex Plan to pay for their LASIK or other vision correction procedures. A FLEX plan allows patients to have a certain amount of pre-tax dollars withheld from each paycheck and deposited into a special “flex care spending account.” This permits you to save automatically for LASIK and other qualified health expenses and, since the money is pre-tax, allows you to save up to 33% off the real cost of the procedure. Typically you must use up all of the money in your account by year-end to avoid forfeiture. Please consult your flex care plan documents or your HR department for information on your specific situation.

Non-Elective Procedures

For non-elective procedures, such as standard Cataract Surgery, Spindel Eye Associates accepts all major insurances as well as Medicare. Please call 1-877-EXAM-2020 if you have specific questions about your insurance coverage. Please note that if your insurance requires a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain that referral prior to your appointment with us, as we may not be able to obtain it for you on the day of your appointment.

Please contact us at 1-877-EXAM-2020 if you have any questions regarding your vision correction financing options.

For your convenience, our office participates in a variety of health plans. Many of these plans cover routine eye exams and may pay for glasses or contact lenses. Our insurance coordinator is always available if you have any questions regarding your coverage.

For our Medicare-age patients, we accept the assignment. Some of these plans, including Medicare, require that you pay a copayment or deductible. We realize that health insurance claims can be confusing, so our staff is available during business hours to assist you.

For health insurance plans with which we do not participate, we will provide you with the appropriate billing information. Payment for these services is required at the time of your visit.
