Preparing for your Procedure

During your preliminary appointments at Spindel Eye Associates, we will:

• review your medical history
• ask you to get medical clearance from your primary care physician
• take detailed measurements of your eye so proper implant power can be custom ordered
• walk you through the final preparations for the procedure – when to arrive, what to wear, which medications to take, etc.

During these initial appointments, make sure you understand and feel comfortable with the entire surgical process before, during and after. Clear up any questions you have about the time line, side effects, or complications.

The entire process usually takes a few hours. You’ll also need to arrange for someone to drive you home afterward.

Cataract surgery costs are often covered by Medicare or private medical insurance but speak with your doctor if you have any additional concerns.
